Consumers across the nation plan to spend $82.93 this year on Halloween costumes, decorations, candy, and greeting cards, according to the National Retail Federation. Total nationwide Halloween spending for 2016 is estimated to reach $8.4 billion with 171 million Americans celebrating this holiday. Since Halloween falls on a Monday, most people are planning to spend the weekend before celebrating the holiday.
