Fastest Growing Occupations, 2006-2008
Missouri
is projected to have more than 200,000 job openings from 2006 to 2008.
During this time, the 20 occupations with the fastest projected growth
in the state include six computer and mathematical
occupations, three health-related occupations and three construction and
extraction occupations.
Nineteen of the 20 fastest growing occupations have a Grade A or B outlook in
terms of having above average openings, growth and wages.
Network Systems and Data Communications Analysts are projected to grow the most rapidly in the state, increasing by 10.7 percent from 2006 to 2008. This occupation is also projected to be the second fastest growing in the Kansas City area and the third fastest in the St. Louis area.
