Jackson County Sales Near $9 Billion
Jackson County reported $8.8 billion in taxable retail sales in 2005, according to Missouri Department of Revenue statistics, up from $8.6 billion in 2004. The county’s 2005 figures constituted more than 12 percent of all reported taxable sales in Missouri, the second highest amount of taxable retail sales by county in the state.
Steady Rise
Total taxable sales in Jackson County rose nearly two percent
from 2004 to 2005. The increase in both percentage and actual
dollars has been steadily rising since 2003.
