Asian-Owned Businesses Increase in Missouri
In 2007 there were 9,774 Asian-owned firms in Missouri, up from 6,376 in 2002, according to recent data from the U.S. Census Bureau's 2007 Survey of Business Owners. This represented a 53.3 percent increase over the 5-year period. Asian-owned firms accounted for nearly $3.7 billion in sales during 2007.
New Regional Demographic and Mapping Tools
New interactive online tools are available for regional and economic research. Innovation in American Regions, a U.S. Department of Commerce project, has developed a new website for custom region innovation index and industry cluster exploration. Another website from the New York Times shows interactive county mapping of 2010 U.S. Census population changes and housing developments since 2000.
