Missouri Business Count
Number of Missouri Businesses Grows in 2005
The
Missouri Economic Research & Information Center, MERIC, recently
completed a preliminary count of Missouri businesses for 2005.
Missouri reported an average of 160,401 private sector businesses,
an increase of 2,008 from 2004.
Payroll and average annual wage growth also posted gains compared to
2004. Average annual wages increased by 3.4% in 2005 to $36,199,
maintaining the recent trend of improving annual wage growth.
