MERIC Hosts National BLS Conference
The
Missouri Economic Research and Information Center (MERIC) will be
hosting the 22nd Annual Bureau of Labor Statistics' (BLS) Labor
Market Information (LMI) Conference on May 22-25, 2006 in St. Louis.
This conference is designed for state Labor Market Information
directors and will include updates on each of the BLS data programs
and how labor market data from those programs can be used in
analysis such as the effects of Hurricane Katrina and the economic
impact of highways. The conference also will give state labor market
information leaders an opportunity to swap ideas and learn how
applications are being used in other areas of the country.
Held in the historic Union Station in downtown St. Louis, this conference will give attendees a chance to learn from each other and become better providers of labor market information while enjoying the sites and sounds of the "Gateway to the West".
